10th Anniversary!

Dear Ones,

Ten years ago, on September 8, 2013, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of North Bay, now known as the Napa Valley Unitarian Universalists, celebrated their first worship service at 1625 Salvador Ave. The Fellowship purchased the building following a short and highly successful capital campaign that allowed the congregation to buy the building outright and have money left over for fixing it up. On December 16, 2012, those present at a congregational meeting voted unanimously to go forward with the purchase of the building.

By the end of that April, the congregation sealed the deal, approving the final purchase of the building. Mary Lu signed the papers and received the keys on May 10. In four short months, thanks to the labor and love of many members, the building was transformed into the UU home we know today.

This Sunday, we will re-create the first procession into the sanctuary. We will meet on the back patio and parade through the front doors together. If you would prefer to await the procession in the comfort of the sanctuary, that’ll be fine, too. Either way, it will be a celebratory moment marking 10 years in this spiritual home.

Many of the folks who were involved with the purchase and transformation are gone now, but many, like Mary Lu, are still a part of this congregation. After the service, stick around to hear their stories and enjoy some coffee and cake!

Yours in faith,
Susan
