Joining a UU congregation means journeying with others as we make meaning of our lives. It means practicing being human together, striving to build a community that thrives in its diversity. It means committing to putting our shared values to work in the world. If you would like to explore membership in NVUU, let’s talk!

The Meaning of Membership at NVUU

Membership is a personal commitment where we aspire:

  • To share talents, energy, and mutual care with each other, as we build a supportive and active community that is open-minded, inclusive, and compassionate.
  • Put the principles of Unitarian Universalism into action within our congregation and beyond, participate in the justice-seeking democratic process of governance, and give financially to nurture the ideals we share.

Benefits of NVUU Membership

  • Becoming a part of a supportive community of people who celebrate life together, support each other’s spiritual exploration, and work side-by-side for a more just and equitable society.
  • Voting on congregational issues and taking an active part in shaping the future of NVUU.
  • Being eligible for elected office at NVUU.
  • Receiving ministerial services, including weddings, memorials, dedication ceremonies, and pastoral care.
  • Becoming a member of a congregation that is affiliated with a larger movement, through the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and affiliated groups like the UU Service Committee and the Side with Love campaign.
  • Receiving the UU World magazine and inspirational Soul Matters monthly packets.
