Poetry Reading with Max Bidasha
Join us in the NVUU sanctuary for a poetry reading event featuring local Napan Max Bidasha. Max is a Two-Spirit, Native, Mexican, and Punjabi playwright, director, and poet, sharing selections from his debut collection, The Pros and Cons of Dying.
Max’s journey into writing began after a life-altering diagnosis of stage IV epithelioid sarcoma, with an initial prognosis of just one year to live. Through his poetry, he transforms what many perceive as tragedy and loss into moments of humor, whimsy, thoughtfulness, and profound love. His work invites readers to reimagine death and dying through a deeply refreshing and transformative lens.
