Poetic Voices from the Middle East – a Collage Service arranged by Bonnie Richardson

With Bonnie Richardson and Brian Shaw
The Middle East has a rich poetic history and many exciting contemporary poets. They address the issues of celebrating life in the midst of political upheaval, violence, and displacement. Most write in Arabic and are not well known in the US.  Come join our presentation of dance, music, and poetry. We will learn about the ghazal, an ancient Arabic poetic form and perhaps write our own. Bring a sentence with your thoughts about the quest for peace in the Middle East and beyond.
