MARCH DEATH POSITIVE EVENT
JACK HAS A PLAN Film Screening

Join us in the sanctuary or on Zoom for our first “hybrid” Death Positive Event, a screening of Jack Has a Plan ~ a deeply moving, unexpectedly joyous documentary about one man’s remarkable journey with a terminal diagnosis.

When Jack, a man with a terminal brain tumor for 25 years, decides to end his life, his family and friends struggle to accept his decision.

In 1994, musician Jack Tuller was given six months to live. But instead of fading away, he spent the next 25 years dodging medical odds, turning his life into an artistic exploration of mortality—filled with experimental films, dance moves, and humor. Jack finally decides to take control of his final chapter, and asks his best friend to documents his three-year quest to die a happy man.

The San Francisco Examiner calls it “Far from a downer, it is indeed a film about death, but it’s as joyous, thrilling and funny as any film about death could be.”

Over the past 10 years the NVUU/OmaiGrace Death Positive Event Series, has been about fostering open and meaningful conversations about the end of life. To that end, after the screening, stay for a Q&A with Reina Galanes, Board Member with End of Life Choices California (EOLCCA). EOLCCA provides education, support, and advocacy to help Californians navigate their end-of-life options.

Open to all and admission is FREE! Donations in any amount to offset licensing fees and support DPES programming are gratefully accepted. Any extra funds will be donated to the NVUU.
