We gather in worship to find meaning and live more deeply. Worship creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion.
Our Worship Services are weekly reflections that weave together our own thoughts and experiences with music, beauty, poetry, and words that both comfort and challenge. Our programs for all ages inspire us and awaken us to our capacities to make a difference in our own lives and in the world.
Join us for the next Sunday worship.
Elements of a typical Sunday morning worship service include:
- Words of welcome
- Lighting a flaming chalice, the symbol of our faith
- A multigenerational segment, such as a “story for all ages”
- Music, hymns and songs in a variety of styles
- A time for lifting up the joys and concerns of the congregation
- A meditation or prayer
- Poems and readings — ancient or contemporary
- A sermon given by our minister, a guest speaker, or a member of the congregation
- An offering, collecting financial donations for the congregation or for justice work in the community.
Following the Main Service, we gather for refreshments and conversations.
From time to time, worships incorporate holiday celebrations, multigenerational plays and pageants, and coming-of-age ceremonies. In late summer, we kick off our new year with a Gathering of the Waters. Participants bring water from summer travels or other meaningful events from the past year and come together again as a community. Flower Communion is celebrated in the spring near Easter, Passover and other spring festivals. We hold a traditional Christmas Eve service and often present a Christmas pageant in addition to Solstice celebrations.
Please see our Upcoming Services for what’s coming up.
Please consider joining us on Sunday to see if our community is a match for your needs!
